About Dental Implants

Implant dentistry is a long-lasting and effective solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth and restore your stunning smile. MINT dentistry is pleased to offer dental implants with custom restorations for our patients in Humble, TX to help them achieve a sexy smile that functions and feels like their own teeth. An implant is a metal post that's placed in your jaw (performed by one of our board-certified oral surgeons) to mimic the missing root of your tooth. This post(s) will be connected to a crown, bridge, or denture for a restoration that looks natural and lasts a long time. To replace one or more teeth, schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry in Humble, TX. During this consultation at our state-of-the-art dental facility, you will learn about our mission to help our patients achieve their cosmetic goals while maintaining ideal oral health.

All-On-4® Dental Implants

The top name in dental implants, All-on-4® by Nobel Biocare®, is a comprehensive way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. All-on-4® implant dentures work by posting metal posts (the dental implants) at strategic points on each arch. Compared to other implant dentures, All-on-4® creates a more secure fit with fewer posts. We recommend All-on-4® implanted dentures for patients who are looking for a restored smile without the glues, soaking, or dietary restrictions of removable dentures. Many of our patients love the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4® procedure with results that look amazing and last a long time. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4® implanted dentures, we encourage you to schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants

We may recommend implants along with a crown, bridge, or denture to restore your smile if you are missing one tooth or several. You may be a good candidate for an implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture if you have one or more traditional restorations but are unhappy with its appearance or maintenance. At your consultation at MINT dentistry, our skilled team will examine your jawbone and gums to decide if you're able to receive an implant. You may not be a candidate for implants if you suffer from gum disease, use tobacco products, or may become pregnant during the implant process.

What to Expect

Before your dental implant appointment is scheduled, our team will make sure you do not require jawbone or gum grafting. If you do, these treatments will be performed and allowed to heal before your implant procedure is done. As soon as your mouth is ready for implants, our team will schedule your implant placement surgery. At the start of your implant surgery, our staff will help you to fully relax in one of our massaging treatment chairs where you will be given Beats headphones and MINT sunglasses. When you are ready, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision(s) in your gums and place the metal post(s) in your jaw. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. Finally, your doctor will close your gums, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. Over the next several months, the post(s) will integrate with the bone and gum. While this occurs, a temporary restoration will be placed to hide and protect the post(s). When you're healed, our team will attach your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the implant(s), revealing a gorgeous new smile.

Treatment Aftercare

Due to the nature of the surgery, you will likely have a bit of swelling in your gums and lower face, as well as some bleeding, bruising, and discomfort. These symptoms are normally mild to moderate and temporary, but if you have concerns or lasting symptoms, please contact us. Your doctor may write you a prescription for pain medications and antibiotics in addition to detailed aftercare instructions, including what activities to avoid, so your recovery is smooth. Once your implant(s) has healed and your custom crown, bridge, or denture has been attached, you should maintain a good dental care routine at home, which includes daily brushing and flossing. Follow-up appointments to check your progress will be scheduled. MINT dentistry highly recommends you continue scheduling annual dental exams and biannual cleanings to keep both your natural teeth and restorations healthy and attractive.

The MINT Commitment

While dental insurance policies differ, some of the cost of your dental implant and custom restoration may be covered. Our office will speak to your insurance provider to clarify your benefits and determine your remaining bill. In your consultation with the doctor, we will discuss which payment methods our office accepts, including low-interest medical financing. MINT dentistry is dedicated to helping our patients get a luminous smile. If you do not have insurance, ask your dentist for more information on the MINT Discount Plan, which helps you fit restorative treatments, like dental implants, into your budget.
